Topic: National Memorial Arboretum
The talk will give a brief history of the Arboretum and its early development, covering the philosophy and rationale of the Arboretum, and will highlight a number of memorials and significant trees on site, explaining their history, symbolism and importance.
Speaker: Keith Forster taught English for 34 years and was a Head of Year at a local comprehensive school in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Since January 2012, Keith has been a Volunteer at The National Memorial Arboretum, the Nation’s Year-Round Centre for Remembrance. At the Arboretum, Keith is a Visitor Services Volunteer and takes guided walks and buggy tours around the site; gives talks to groups; and helps visitors find individual trees or memorials.
