RNLI – It’s Not All at Sea
The talk explains how the modern RNLI continues to provide the world’s finest marine rescue service entirely funded by voluntary contribution. It includes short video clips, pictures and sound to ensure the very best understanding of RNLI operations, equipment and training reinforced with stories of real rescues.
Speaker: Colin Brown retired from British Airways in 2009 after 38 years’ service. Having been an active boating enthusiast and owning his own boat for most of his life the RNLI has always been very dear to his heart. So when he retired he began volunteering with the RNLI. In 2012 Colin was issued a ‘Certificate of Thanks’ and in 2014 a ‘Bronze Badge’ for his support of the RNLI. He skippers “Impossible Dream”, a launch operated by Thames Sailability providing opportunities for mobility impaired people to take to the water.
