A visit to Chartwell and Hever Castle on Wednesday 30th April.
Our first stop will be Chartwell, Winston Churchill’s home from 1922 until 1965. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and scenic views of the Weald of Kent, the house reflects Churchill’s personality, passions and legacy. Inside, visitors can explore his study, personal artefacts and the numerous paintings he created. The estate also includes picturesque lakes, a walled garden and Churchill’s painting studio.
After lunch we will board the coach for the short drive to Hever Castle. Hever Castle is the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. This Tudor gem features moats, stunning gardens and historic interiors filled with Tudor artefacts. Visitors can explore secret passages, Anne’s prayer book and a grand collection of portraits. With beautiful lakes, a maze and seasonal events its a perfect mix of history and charm.
Depart from Green Street 9.00am or the bus stop opposite the White Horse public house at approx 9.05am.
Arrive back in Chorleywood at approximately 6:30pm.
