Pickleball

This new game is a mixture between badminton and short tennis, playable indoors and out, with paddles and a polymer ball. It is massive in the US and spreading fast here with over 100 u3a groups and player numbers increased last year in the UK by 65 per cent to 45000.

We play mixed ability doubles changing partners and opposition regularly. The game is great fun and concentrates more on strategy and placing rather than strength. It is easy to learn and we provide tuition and all equipment. There is fee for court hire paid in advance per term.

Last term we branched by arranging professional tuition at additional cost on one of our courts for members who wished to develop their game.

The Friday group starts a new term on May 8th until July 17th, playing 4 courts.

The new Tuesday group goes live for a similar ten week term starting on May 5th playing 2 courts.

There is room for a couple of additional players in each group so please contact the Group leader initially.

Basic tuition and equipment provided for the first year.

The group is registered as a club with Pickleball England.
