Ooh Matron! A History of Carry On Films
One of the most enduring and popular of film comedies are the Carry On films. 31 films were made between 1958 and 1992 and their reputation for bawdy fun has never disappeared. This talk takes us through the rise of this beloved series, looking at the lives of some of the main players as well as showing clips from some of the most successful.
Speaker: Steve Dimmer as well as being an established story teller has been a professional magician and entertainer for 30 years. He is also an established playwright and his double bill about the lives of the Carry On icons Joan Sims and Sid James have been touring the country since 2018 under the title Funny Faces.
