Aerial Thrills and Spills at Northholt Airport

This is a not-too-serious look at the history of Hillingdon’s other airport, including two World Wars and on-site TV & filming. Post-war, there were some air disasters and some lucky escapes. The talk includes some archive videos and even a clip from a James Bond film.

Speaker: Colin Richards is a member of Watford & District u3a where he is a Trustee and joint leader of the Art Appreciation Group. Soon after early retirement from working in computing, he began giving talks on local history, art & design, science, and health topics. He has given talks at many local u3as, as well as local branches of The RAF Association, The Inland Waterways Association, Probus, and The Women’s Institute, as well as local history societies, aviation groups, and vintage car groups. He is a volunteer speaker for Diabetes UK.
