We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in members' homes. We do not usually meet in August or December.
About our Group
The Architecture Group meets on the afternoon of the second Wednesday of the month. Our meetings consist of presentations by members of the group and we have also been watching episodes of the BBC series “Climbing Great Buildings”. We choose a theme for our meetings each year and are about to embark on a study of Theatres and Opera Houses around the world.
Past topics have included
- How We built Britain - a Thousand Years of British History
- Prodigy Houses with a visit to Hatfield House
- Railway Architecture which culminated in a trip on the Elizabeth Line in July 2022
- Cities and Towns from Scratch including Brasilia, St Petersburg, Nur Sultan (Kazakhstan), and Ashgabat(Turkmenistan)
- Cambridge Colleges with a visit to Cambridge
- Town Halls around the country
