Highgate Cemetery is a place of burial in north London. There are approximately 170,000 people buried in around 53,000 graves across the West and East Cemeteries. Highgate Cemetery is notable both for some of the people buried there as well as for its de facto status as a nature reserve. This talk might sound a bit macabre and dull, but it isn’t at all. Like many cemeteries, it is a wonderfully atmospheric place. We will cover the history of this Victorian cemetery and explore some of the numerous interesting and famous people buried there.
