Group Leader: Andrew York

We meet in members’ houses on the 3rd Friday of each month.

We usually also have two adhoc meetings a year. A summer lunch and a London visit in December usually to visit a museum illustrating the current theme. This is then followed by a Christmas lunch. Please refer to the calendar for when these have been scheduled

About our Group

There is a complete range of history knowledge from those who studied the subject at university to those who did not even make the “O” Level grade. We have a Themes Meister who suggests themes and once the next theme is decided will then suggest a vast array of possible presentations. Each member will then present their chosen topic using powerpoint. We started traditionally with The Georgians and the Stuarts but have branched out to Countries and Heroes and the Contribution of Islam. We are just starting India.

We are a fun group and have two ad hoc lunches each year. A summer lunch and a Christmas lunch, usually in London, incorporating a museum illustrating the current History theme.

The group is currently full, but there is a waitlist.
