Music & Opera Appreciation

We are a friendly group with a shared love of music and opera. We take it in turns to choose and present a piece of music to the group sharing our enthusiasm and experience. Topics covered recently include Il Trovatore by Verdi, Giulio Cesare by Handel, Bruckner's Fourth, The Planets by Holst, Haydn's Creation and Salomme by Strauss. Planned sessions will include works by Mozart, Mahler, Donizetti, Rossini and Wagner.

In response to the pandemic we have been enjoying fortnightly sessions with a programme of music based on a letter of the alphabet.

We are back meeting in member's homes which is lovely after all that time in Covid when we met via zoom. Unfortunately being back in each other's houses means we now have to limit numbers so we can't take any new members (as some of us don't have the chairs for more than 12 people!)
